The Great Silk Route - Kyrgyzstan

Photography Course Summary

We are finalising the details of this amazing adventure so there may be some small changes to the information published here. Full details will follow shortly.

Kyrgyzstan, one of the former Soviet Central Asian Republics, is an incredible land of dramatic mountain ranges, huge grasslands and jewel-like lakes. Despite its remoteness Krygyzstan's position on the ancient silk route from the far east to the west brought a wealth of traditions and a rich architectural heritage to the country. Though Kyrgyzstan may not have a long settled history, it has all the natural beauty to make up for that. Furthermore the people are very friendly and helpful which makes travelling in Kyrgyzstan relatively easy. .

Many Kyrgys tribes lead a nomadic life in which the horse was king, and even today the horse remains of central importance among the nomadic herders.

Our journey will take us high into the breath-taking mountain landscape of Central Asia when the alpine meadows and in spring bloom.
