We are finalising the details of this amazing adventure so there may be some small changes to the information published here. Full details will follow shortly. It is frightening to think that the majestic tiger is so endangered that it is now on the edge of extinction in the wild. Few places exist where it is protected and given a chance at survival in the wild. This fascinating adventure takes us to two of them. In the heart of India, the regions of Chattisgarh & Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks are home to the tiger and a whole host of other fascinating wildlife. Prior to becoming a National Park, the forests of Bandhavgarh were maintained as a "Shikhargah" (private hunting reserve) for the rulers of Rewa State. It is now one of the finest national park in the India and has the distinction of harboring the highest concentration of tigers per unit area of forest. Resident species include Cheetal (spotted deer), Sambar, barking deer, Chowsingha (four-horned antelope), wild boar, Nilgai (blue bull), wild boar, grey langur, Rhesus macaque, Dhole (Asian wild dog) and a wide variety of birds. Leopard, though sighted rarely, coexists in abundance. This part of India is Kipling country as we will explore the Kanha National Park, famous for Royal Bengal Tiger and a very different terrain from Bandhavgarh, though equally rich in wildlife. The tribal people of Bastar & Kawardha retain their cultural traditions and the tribal markets of the Baiga and Gond tribes are a feast of colour and the exotic India of old. Ancient temples, architecture and monuments of Bhopal & Sanchi are all along the route which sees us stay in charming heritage hotels and the royal palaces of Kanker and Kawardha. Please note: The animals, including the tigers, in the Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks are wild. It is highly probable that we will see and photograph most or all of them, but there are no guarantees as with any safari. However we will be in the hands of highly skilled and experienced guides who objective will be to give you the most rewarding experience.
